The 27 Various released five records in its five year lifespan. Led by Ed Ackerson (later of Polara), the band's sound evolved from mysterious psych-folk whimsy on its first release to searing and pioneering proto-noisepop by its last. It was quite a trip, and by the end of it the band had a great following nationwide and had staked out its place in Minneapolis pop forever.

Susstones, which released the first two 27 Various albums originally, is planning to reissue them with bonus tracks in the future. Negotiations have also commenced to secure rights to the other records with an eye to their eventual re-release on Susstones as well. Stay tuned for further developments...
