POLARA |
"Can't
Get Over You", performed at
First Avenue in Minneapolis in May of this year, spotlights Jennifer's
harmonica wailing and the band's live power. The version of "Jetpack
Blues" presented
here is a radio mix and edit of the title track from Polara's critically
acclaimed album of
the same name.
This is a different mix from the album version, featuring additional
strings and a different guitar balance. The mp3 also runs the full length
of the track, while the version released to radio fades at 3:30."Is
This It" was
the first single off of the Jetpack Blues album, a real fuzz-pop
hit that still is getting played on broadcast and satellite radio around
the country. |

FAUX JEAN |
|
"Nature"
is the title track off Faux
Jean's first album on Susstones. Sublime yet toothy pop perfection. |

BASEMENT APARTMENT |
|
Basement
Apartment return with the unreleased track "Simple Girl".The
track glimmers with the band's trademark melodies and floaty guitar work.
Vince gets a deliciously spaced-out groove going on the next track "Indulge
Me". Shuffling, echoing, hazy, out-of-sight, it's a perfect soundtrack
for this strange season. "Nothing" is one of Vince's trademark
pop jewels, a languid melody framed by slide guitar to make George proud.
ALSO: The debut Basement Apartment video "Learning to Fall"
is available now! |

THE PLATE |
The Plate is the electronic mayhem construct of Polara bassist Dan Boen. Colorful, menacing, irreverent, style-bending, The Plate is a leading exponent of the white-hot IDM sub-genre "Mulletronic". The following is excerpted from the press release that accompanied the release of "Feelings", "Things": Cold
steel tentacles chase you down the dimly lit styrofoam ceilinged basement
hall. Enter office 43A. On the desk sits a plaque that says "cry
me a folksinger". Do as it says. Have feelings about things. |

MEDICATION |

Sadly
it's all over for the Meds. The band did manage to kick out a couple of
great modern mod/psych tracks, however, and they're available here for
you to enjoy. |
